Aaron Burrell

Three people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance and death of a 20-year-old woman from Georgia. The woman, Maury-Ange Martinez from Alpharetta, was reported missing in August 2023. Her remains were found on January 5 in a wooded area near Chattanooga, Tennessee, and were later identified by the Hamilton County medical examiner.

Martinez’s mother, Anita Darling, learned of her daughter’s discovery on Mother’s Day. She expressed a desire to know what happened to her daughter, stating that while it doesn’t lessen the loss, it prevents her from imagining the worst.

The arrested individuals are Allen Kerr, Sean Deshazer, and Jasmine Craig. They are all charged with concealing a death, a felony. Kerr and Deshazer were already in custody for other charges, while Craig was arrested in a different location.

Deshazer faces multiple drug charges, including possession of cocaine and marijuana, drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm or knife during a crime. Kerr is held on suspicion of drug and weapons possession and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Cobb County investigators are working with Hamilton County police to determine what happened to Martinez. Authorities have not revealed any possible connection between Martinez and the suspects.
